Lillywhites, Piccadilly Circus, London October 2026

 

One of the loveliest things about participating in Saturday's Piccadilly Circus Showcase was meeting fellow artist Ruta Usaite. Despite the rain and wind, we spent a wonderful afternoon talking about our art, watching our paintings appear on the digital screens at Lillywhites and photographing each other's work.

 

So it was a particularly lovely surprise to see my aquarelle Midday featured alongside Ruta's Echo of Modesty at the opening of Sunday's newsletter from The Public Canvas, introducing the 15 participating artists.

 

Exhibitions create opportunities for our work to be seen, but they can also introduce us to people with whom we might otherwise never have crossed paths. Thank you to James Carter, Rosina Belchere and The Public Canvas for bringing us together and making the showcase such a memorable experience.
